  • 1. Beer and Cannabis are cousins both in the Cannabaceae (Hemp) family. Beer is made with hops (humulus lupulus), a bitter plant, traditionally used to help with sleep and digestion. And similarly, has a smell that is an acquired taste.

Humulene is a terpene found in hops but also seen in cannabis, sage and other everyday spices.

    2. Pain relief is the most common reason people give for using cannabis. Our first known record of use was to aid in pain management.

Sleep support, increase in appetite, focus and mood lifts are also common reasons for use.

    3. Around nine-in-ten Americans favor some form of marijuana legalization (medicinal, recreational, or both).

With public opinion on our side, it’s more about how we go about legalization. All the more reason to better understand it and keep the conversation open and rounded

    4. Country music references cannabis more than any other genre.

    5. Depending on the state, Blacks are 3.73 times more likely than whites to be arrested for marijuana.

    6. The cannabis plants that we smoke are unpollinated female plants. If grown with male plants, your harvest will contain many more seeds and less THC production.

So the rule is to keep a good eye on your buds as they’re growing and get rid of the males so they don’t mess up your crop.

    7. Smoking and eating edibles gives you a different kind of high. Edible highs are first processed by your digestive system and then your liver, resulting in an often stronger, more concentrated body high.

  • What do chocolate and cannabis have in common? —Besides making an irresistable edible?

Both chocolate and cannabis activate anandamide, a neurotransmitter in the brain that plays a part in mood elevation, thus its ability to lift your spirits.

  • “ I had just smoked with my brother and I was so high! So high that I needed to do something to get my body out of the uncomfortable slump that I was settling into. I hopped up, probably still leaning, and asked him to teach me to shoot. He had a BB gun set up in his backyard, so we went and he taught me the basics. I could literally not hold my body right. And I felt the awkwardness in my stance but I could not shift my body the right way to come off as normal. When my brother finished laughing at me, he taught me how to stand straight. Good weed, bad posture. I still hit my practice targets…eventually. ”
